Dear Franklin Park Baptist Family,
Greetings,
It has been a bittersweet month. The joy of being commissioned as Pastor at FPBC has been mixed with the painful passing of my father. However, the extended Palombo family has been tremendously blessed by the entire Franklin Park Baptist Household. Amanda and I thank you all so much for the outpouring of love, understanding and encouragement. My mother was deeply moved by the funeral home visitation from so many of you all, as well as the cards and well wishes.
I am excited to finally be getting my feet on the ground here at FPBC. It has been a very busy few weeks as Amanda and I are meeting so many new people. Thank you all for your patience (and the name tags) as we strive to learn names, backgrounds and Church history. I made my first round of visiting some of our shut-ins with Pastor Paul and had the opportunity to share the Lord’s table with them; What a privilege! I also want to openly thank Pastor Paul for his gracious posture during this period of transition. It is plainly evident why you all love him.
I am anxious to hear your story!
I also want to take this opportunity to begin making an open invitation to get to know the whole Church family on a more personal basis. It is my desire not only get to know you as your Pastor, but as a friend and fellow worker in the household of faith. Amanda and I will begin availing ourselves on Monday evenings for family fellowship for a while. I will also avail myself to meet anyone for breakfast or lunch on a personal basis……I am an early riser so a quick fellowship breakfast is always spiritually energizing. We can also meet at the Church for prayer, or perhaps a word of encouragement. All you need to do is contact me. The best way to reach me is by cell phone at
724.601.3111 or by email at georgepalombo1@gmail.com. While these are not the ONLY times we can meet, they perhaps represent the best times.
I am looking forward to serving and representing FPBC to the entire Franklin Park Community as your Pastor. Please pray for us as we seek relevant ways to reach the greater Franklin Park community with Christ’s Commission; while at the same time obeying the Great Commandment.
In Christ’s love and service,
Pastor George Augustine Palombo
